Privacy Policy

The short version

The Grid is local-first. Your data lives on your device. We don't sell it, mine it, or show you ads based on it. If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit and stored securely. That's it.

What data stays on your device

Everything you create in The Grid — journal entries, tasks, notes, goals, habits, health logs, financial data, and people profiles — is stored locally on your device by default. This data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

What we collect

If you create an account for cloud sync, we collect:

We do not collect analytics, usage data, device fingerprints, or any form of behavioral tracking.

What we don't do

Cloud sync

Cloud sync is optional. If enabled, your data is:

You can disable cloud sync at any time and delete your cloud data from your account settings.

Data export and deletion

You can export all your data at any time in Markdown format. You own your data — we don't lock it behind proprietary formats. To delete your account and all associated cloud data, contact us or use the delete option in your account settings.

Children's privacy

The Grid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Minor wording changes may be made without notice.
